Terry's Amazing Stories

every week he tells us how he by chance ran into a jw, mormon, evangilcial, etc.
and comes up with witty answers every time to counter every point they make and than have them running in fear.

As I remember, Terry works in the religion and philosophy department, so he will meet religious people every day. There is a fair amount of poets licence with much of what many of us say on this site. As long as what is said is interesting, I don't much care. Terry talks more sense that anyone else on this site, except me of course - Cough!
I started reading Terry's posts many years ago and debating with him when I posted in my real name. He has been a major influence in helping me clear my mind of the mystical approach I had to life. He has humoured me and taken the time to reason with me. Learning to be objective and more objectively conscious, has lifted me out of difficult period in my life. I have thanked him often but not enough.
Terry does not demand that we agree with him but that we examine his argument and try to fault it. He likes to be challenged and enjoys a successful challenge that leads to him changing his mind.
He hits hard and backs up what he says with reasoned argument. He is generally polite and entertaining. The remarks of other on this thread confirm that they too appreciate his input. This site would not be the same without him.

Why God CANNOT FORGIVE YOU.....but someone else can!

If someone wrongs us and we choose not to seek a penalty for them we have forgiven them. If we try to have a penalty imposed then we have not forgiven them. It our action that counts.
Too often we think that forgiveness is just a feeling inside ourselves. How we cope with our feelings of anger or loss is a personal matter, but unless we take action to exact a penalty, how we feel is irrelevant to the offender. To forgive means no action - to not forgive means action.
Many will disagree with me because they think that the whole business of forgiveness takes place in their heart. Christian people have a whole world going on in their heart which also houses Jesus. They will sometimes say they forgive, in the belief that the offender will answer to Jesus. This is a part of their subjective reality.
Objective reality is a more demanding master. Generally, wrong doer's only respond to the latter. Forgiving someone may not be in the long term interest of the offender.

Both earth and heaven are all aspects of the physical world.
As exjw2814 points out, heaven is a spiritual place. I fail to see how something spiritual can be in a place, but let's not spoil the party.
